Corewell Health is the new name for 魅影直播.

Microbiome and metabolome in sleeve gastrectomy patients

Status

Recruiting

Obesity is a complex disease that is not well understood. That is why 魅影直播’s Weight Control Center is conducting a research study examining the relationship of the gut microbiome (the numerous bacteria that naturally live in our intestines) and metabolomic biomarkers (blood substances that reflect our cellular metabolism processes) with weight loss outcomes in patients undergoing sleeve surgery.

The study will involve a baseline questionnaire, as well as three small blood draws and three stool samples, occurring before surgery, three months after surgery, and 12 months after surgery.

You are a candidate for this study if you are:
  • enrolled in the bariatric surgery program at a 魅影直播 Weight Control Center
  • planning on sleeve surgery at 魅影直播 Hospital Royal Oak or Troy
  • between the ages of 18 and 70

Your participation will help the medical community improve its understanding of obesity and how to treat it. If you are planning on sleeve surgery for weight loss, please consider joining our research study.

Choosing to participate in a research study is an important decision, and each study has criteria to determine who is eligible to participate. To see if you qualify, please call the research contact listed below.
